Wastage Factor in Internet Advertising

There are other reasons why advertising on the Net is not currently seen by advertisers as cost-effective. One of them is the quality of desired responses. In many cases, sums spent on advertising on the Net has not been deployed properly. There are instances where advertisements have just been lifted and put on the banner. Though there are many early adapters in India, there is a big gap between these adapters and the mainstream users. And most advertisers have too small budgets for advertising on the Net to be bothered about wastage.

There could be wastage in online advertising, but one should not forget that interactivity is the hallmark of online advertising and here it is possible to target the audience by demography, psychography and technography. So, advertising agencies need to take into account these factors while developing strategies.

Make Money Using Online Advertising

Advertising not only merely for promoting a product or service using the Internet but making money through it has become increasingly popular and feasible in recent years. It it an easy work that one can easily generate earnings without getting out of home. Basically it needs 4 steps to complete the work and get pay. Firstly, determine your target audience to be reached. Start creating a web site which is one of the easier way of getting advertising. You can create any topic that interest the public. The content should be pertinents and current. You can also embed Google Adsense service to help you look for a variety of affiliates who will pay by PPC from your website.

s widget to help you in tracking the visits, interact in the chatbox and add in Google Adsense and Amazon.com easily.

Next, writing articles on sites such as eHow or Helium can help generate advertising renevue without setting up your own website. Just write articles and the host site will manage the programming. The advertisements on that sites will help you earn some income in the long run
.

Lastly, Get Paid To sites (GPTs) are affiliate-based advertising sites that allow you to do offers in exchange for money or incentives. If you click on their ads and complete offers, you will get paid for accessing the advertising that is implanted on their site. Online Advertising Constraints

As efforts to eliminate wastages in online advertising take off, efforts are also needed to eliminate the attendant constraints. In online advertising, one can stream audio and video technologies together with faster bandwidths and delivery channels in a bid to present the same idea with the use of sound, music and visual imagery and make interactions with the banner possible.

But, this is not possible in India, thanks to the existing bandwidth problems. However, soon bandwidth will cease to be an issue.

Despite the bandwidth constraint, the Coco-Cola television commercial is being aired in Zeenext.com. This initiative has been taken by Mediaturf and a Bangalore-based software programmer, who have found a way to use the Net to air commercials with the dial-up mode and thus overcoming the bandwidth constraint. Anyway, with massive investments coming in bandwidth, there could be a glut soon.

Sure, India has an advantage in online advertising, thanks to the fact that online advertising depends so much on technology and software programming.

So, the days of innovative banners and convergence of real-time advertising are not far. But, effective online advertising calls for skills in consumer and relationship management.

We welcome feedback, suggestions, and comments, from any party. =)

Analysis Result

"Will internet advertising grow to be one of the leading future advertising elements compared to TV, Newspaper, Radio Ads, etc, which is the desired choice amongst the populace now."

That was our latest poll question. Readers cast their votes through multiple choices of 3.

  1. YES.
  2. NO.
  3. MAYBE. ONLY WITH KNOWING HOW TO ADAPT TO THE USAGE BEHAVIORS OF THE MEDIUM.

Through total votes of 8 readers, 50% voted on YES. 37.5% voted NO and 12.5% voted MAYBE. ONLY WITH KNOWING HOW TO ADAPT TO THE USAGE BEAVIORS OF THE MEDIUM.

Analysis question was based on the topic PREDICAMENT OF INTERNET ADVERTISING which was very much connected to our past several posts. Some of them include TV ADS vs ONLINE ADS and ONLINE WEBSITE ADVERTISING. These two posts discussed how TV Ads is still one of the favourite entertaining medium among the masses although online advertising is massively growing these days. On the other hand, we also mentioned how internet advertising grows more creative in order to fit in the competitive challenge of other advertising medium.

Looking at the readers' votes, majority of them believes internet advertising will be a successful advertising medium in coming future. I suppose this is possible only if advertisers put on more effort in knowing the target market for each online advertising product and similarly emphasize on more interactivity, attention grabbing elements into each online ad. Moreover, technology is gradually more prevailing. TV can be used touch panel, and surf online. The question come to pass can people lives without TV? =)

Legal Issues of Advertising Online

Does anyone know about the legal issues of advertising online? It is important to know the legal issues before starts advertising online. Those who own a website or web page and would like to advertise in some popular search engine like Google need to consider the legal issues beforehand.

I have came across that some of the important legal issues to consider before advertising online.
There are click fraud, key word spamming and false advertising.

What is click fraud?
Click fraud occurs when someone who click on the ad or link but has no intention on clicking for product or information.Click fraud usually happens when your competitors want to raise your advertising bill by repeatedly clicks on your ad or link. Thus, one should search for the engine's click protection system before buying clicks on any search engine. Also, find out what they will remove fraudulent clicks from your account.

Keyword spamming happens when someone outbidding or invisible your trademark meta tags to avoid search engines to find
your website. Nevertheless, if you complain, most search engines will remove a keyword spammer's listings. If it does not work, you have to pursue legal action directly against the spammer.

False Advertising meaning any claim or statement made about the products and services on website is not true or correct. One will be prosecuted if caught making false claims or statement about the product and services. If your claims and statement in true, ensure that you have hard data to back them up. Always review or check your product description before posting it to your website.

Dear all, do you think this legal issues content helps you before you advertising online?
Kindly leave your comment. Thank you.

Predicament with Internet Advertising

In any particular TV audience, only a few will have an immediate need or interest in the product being advertised. This is why every television commercial is, to some degree, a mixture of substance and amusement. The television audience is willing to view irrelevant content as long as it is entertaining enough.

But on the Web, we are purposeful.

Viewing irrelevant content, entertaining or otherwise, is antithetical to the reasons we are there. And yet Internet advertising keeps resorting to the challenge in the way that worked in the past. It gets more creative. Banner ads deliver games. Pop-ups respond to blockers by becoming "floaters." The industry prays for greater broadband adoption so television commercials can be streamed online. In advertising, traditionally, great creative could always come to the rescue.

Now think about the last time you went to Google. Do you remember advertising? Probably not. There are no banners, pop-ups, images, or animations. The advertising is totally unremarkable, uncreative and uninteresting and yet Google is very successful at selling advertising. Google strives for relevance. It serves an ad only when it knows something about your interest. That's why there's no advertising on the home page. Google met the essential challenge, How to advertise without bothering their customers? By adapting to, rather than fighting, the use of the medium. They accepted that audiences want to be in control of their experience while exploiting a new advantage. They know what their customers are looking for and looking at.

While contextual placement is only one way of adapting to the medium, it suggests a broader implication for the future of advertising on the Web: if all advertising is a mixture of entertainment and relevance, then online, the balance must shift to relevance.

Online people demand control and control, after all, is really just about getting what you want -- and only what you want.

How Effective are the Ads on Social Networks?

In many ways, social network advertising is the equivalent of a white Gap t-shirt. Just about everyone you know has purchased one at some point, but for all its practicality it's about as far from glamorous as you can get. Buy a text-based Facebook ad with a tiny little image, and you're buying a Gap tee. It's no evening gown, but it works.

In the online world, one might compare Facebook ads to paid search placements. There's something utilitarian about them. They're affordable, easy to create and manage, and offer the precision targeting advertisers seek — and the results you'll get are similar to what a paid search campaign can produce. If paid search is the workhorse of online media placements, then Facebook ads are its colt.

But there is also another problem, a bigger problem which is broader than just Facebook. The question is how effective the ads be on social networks? On the surface, it's a no-brainer: every site that has traffic makes money on ads, right? But there's more to the story than just the surface.

The most effective ad play online is, of course, Google. Its big because its model is pay-per-click (CPC). That is, advertisers only pay if users actually click through to the site. Of all Google's offerings the most successful one is Google AdWords, in which contextually relevant ads are displayed on top of search results. It is so successful because a search represents intent, so users are more likely to click on ads that advertise things they are clearly actively looking for.

Right now, people are using social networks to socialize and browse, they are not actively searching for products and deals and likely, CPC would not be effective. It is still too early to tell.

As it stands, the jury is still out on whether social networks can get big via highly targeted advertising. Early trials have shown that CPC is not a likely route and CPM plays are just not as interesting. Yet, Facebook is certainly very aggressively pushing for monetization, likely in preparation for a future IPO. Will they be able to turn it all around and re-invent contextual advertising? The company is full of brilliant people so it's certainly possible, but so far it does not look impressive.

What do you think about advertising opportunities on social networks? What kind of plays do you see possible and what do you think about current Facebook ads?

Online Classified Ads

Online Classified Ads uses the Internet and World Wide Web as the main media for promoting products and services. These online sites are similar with traditional advertising media such as Newspapers, Magazines, Radio and Televisions. There are generally no pictures or other graphics within the advertisement, usually are company logo and information that audiences need to know.

Typical online classified ads are much different than traditional classified ads where user can browse more categories such as Computer and Computer Accessories, Vans & Trucks, Antiques & Collectibles, Jobs & Services, Office Supplies, Dating, Furniture, Personal Services, Pets & Supplies, and Sports & Fitness, among many others. Ads can be search according by category, city, and price.

The advantages of Online Classified Ads are ads can be posted immediately fast which take only a few minutes to publish your ads. Then, it reaches a wide range of customer over wider geographical areas. Some web site even offer free classified ads to attract audience. In addition, the cost of publishing an ads online compared to a local newspaper is more cheaper.

These days, many newspaper media are putting up their online version of their classified ads. This change is because the online ads cost are far more less than a print ad cost, so the net revenues are much greater.

Do you think Online classified ads is better than traditional media print classified ads?
You are inviting to discuss about this topic. Do leave your comment.

Analysis Result

Hello again people!! We are finally so close to the few last analysis.

Remember last posts, it was a lot of online discussion issues. And the conclusion, we're looking at whether surfers would take any actions if they ever come

Would you Take any Actions if you ever come across any Fake Online Advertisements

across any fake online advertisements. 62.5% agrees with MAYBE, 12.5% says NO, TOO MUCH HASSLES, vice versa 25% voted YES, WE NEED TO RESTORE ORDER TO THIS ISSUE.

The way i look at it, the 12.5% (NO, TOO MUCH HASSLES), and the 62.5% whom agrees with MAYBE, have got the same mindset. So negative ain't it? It is equivalent to a group of 75% surfers agrees with not taking any action. Internet-related-complaints are just too broad. Not everyone will take an effort to settle any of these issues. An identity can be done fake online, logos as well.

My advice, be smart. If you see 'Business Opportunities -- Free Website Provided' advertised in a tabloid, on a website, or in a magazine, how can you know if it's for real? Examine the ads closely. Are there lots of punctuation marks and capitalized words? Do the phrases 'No Work' or 'Get Out of Bed When You Want To' pop up? These ads may be over exaggerating and should be approached with caution. Do they tell you what the job is? Find out what work is required before committing. Look at testimonials from participants. Try to find people who have accepted this opportunity and get their opinions. Look and check closely into details and dependable elements.
